Introduction to Psychology and Sociology of Religion

Within the context of the course leading representatives of the discipline will be introduced together with a survey of their views of the relationship between the human psyche and religion.

Attention will be paid to such essential questions of psychology of religion such as are the issues of religious conversion, religious experience, extasis, glosolalia, and possesion. When dealing with the given phenomena, theological and psychological approaches will be rigorously distinguished.

Concerning the sociology of religion, the course will concentrate principally on the role of religion in contemporary society.
