Michaela Jaterková presented her master’s project at a conference in Lausanne, the first Czech study of the motivations and perspectives of women who consume their placenta in some way after giving birth – Placentophagy in Czechia – Value Behind Practice. It is an extremely controversial and interesting topic, transcultural communication in a somewhat unexpected place: although all participants want the well-being of both mother and child, it is not at all easy to listen to and understand each other on the topic of placentophagy. A joint specific research will (hopefully) result in an article.
Michaela completed her studies in our country in June, managed to join the environmental project RESOURCE of the Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences and is starting her doctorate at Charles University.
