Borders & Dialogue

13/10/2021

On the first day of the workshop, the Borders & Dialogue project hosted a lecture by political scientist Dr. Wojciech Opioła from the University of Opole on “The Czech-Polish borderland region, its memory and identity.” Dr. Opiola highlighted the processes shaping the identity of Silesians and the specificities of the Czech-Polish border region. On the same day, a second lecture was given by Petr Bergmann. Petr Bergmann himself is a native of Prague, but he has been living in the Broumov region for over twenty years and has devoted himself to regional history. His lecture focused on the historical transformation of the Broumov region, as well as its current economic and social situation.

The first two photos were taken by Michał Wanke, the other photos by Luděk Jirka.
