On December 18, 2019, Tomáš Petráček, the head of our department was ceremoniously appointed professor of Modern Economic and Social History at the Karolinum in Prague. The professor is appointed by the President of the Czech Republic on the proposal of the scientific council of the university and Tomáš Petráček was appointed on the proposal of the Charles University.
The title of professor is the highest scientific degree for a university teacher and the abbreviation of the title – prof. – is placed before the name: prof. PhDr. Tomáš Petráček, Ph.D. et Th.D.
